Australian dermatology training interview: 2026 dates, format and scoring

When to apply

• ACD applications open in August and September for the following year, through the state faculties.

When interviews run

• Interviews run in October and November, with offers in December.

The format

• A state faculty panel or an MMI depending on the state, criterion mapped.

Who is on the panel

• Dermatologists from the state faculty, two or three for a panel.

How it is scored

• Criterion mapped rubric with research and sustained commitment weighted; combined with the application and referees.

What to prepare

• The research record explained, not listed.
• Years of evidence of commitment with reflection.
• The dermatological emergencies.
• The melanoma and the teenager conversations.
• A plan for not being selected this year, because most are not on the first attempt.
