What they assess
NHS values — respect, compassion, resilience and commitment to quality of care, Establishing rapport, in role-play stations, Interpreting clinically relevant data, in calculation stations

Each station includes two minutes of preparation within its eight. The circuit mixes interview, role-play and calculation stations; calculation is at or below GCSE level, and the difficulty is in choosing the right approach rather than the arithmetic. All stations are weighted equally, and Birmingham sets a minimum standard for each — falling below it on a single station can cost an offer regardless of the overall score. Face to face in Birmingham for Home applicants; online for International.

Practise this format before your interview

MMI stations are short and scored independently, so a weak station need not sink the circuit. Work through questions by category, or run a timed mock.
